Smoke Hangs Over State as Warm Trend Builds This Week
Yesterday, parts of Minnesota saw some action with storms that rolled through late afternoon into the evening. This was apart of a Marginal risk for severe weather and a cold front that swept across the state. These storms mostly consisted of periods of heavy rain, and hail.
Looking ahead to the rest of the week, areas of smoke will move in behind the cold front as it follows the jet stream. We will remain mild with temps in the mid to upper 70s.
Going into the weekend, we could see another chance of rain Friday afternoon through the early parts of next week. If you have outdoor plans this week, it may not be a bad idea to have backup plans in place.
Looking ahead at the models, we are looking to remain active for the next couple of weeks as we head into the peak of severe weather season for the upper Midwest. As of right now, there is nothing hinting at severe weather for our region.
